Huntington’s, Diabetic Retinopathy and Medical Writing

Mouse brains still do things computers can't dream of.Listen here.

Strap on for a tour of Erin Clabough‘s neuroscience work: Huntington’s disease; mouse research; eye damage caused by diabetes; writing medical reports for drug companies; and teaching high school students why the brain is the future.

Speaking of which, it’ll take a hefty chunk of the future to catch up to the brain. Here’s Erin: “You can spend your entire life not just on one part of the brain, not just on one neuron, but on one tiny protein within that one neuron, and you can have a whole career just figuring out exactly what that protein does. It’s amazing, the amount of information that’s waiting the be discovered about the brain.”
