Podcast Science 62 - Saving Lives with Geology

When you think about "geology", rocks and stones spontaneously spring to mind... And if you think a little harder, you might also think about the study of Earth layers, plate tectonics, planetology, datation, and maybe even of practical applications (such as boring, ground water management, drilling...). You won't necessarily thing of an essential discipline of geology that actually saves lifes: the study and prevention of natural hazards such as landslides, rockfalls and avalanches. Our guest this week, Clément Michoud, is an expert in this field and shares his lab and field research with us.
