Race as a social construct, and why parents should talk about it

That race matters is one of those facts that is obvious and surprising at the same time. Social scientists have added some clarity to the effects of race in society with the Implicit Association Test, experiments on stereotype threat, and studies on the mental and health effects of discrimination.

Like it or not, race is in your home. It's time to talk about it, especially with the kids.
