scienceTASTIC Episode 053 - NdeGT

www.sciencetastic.net

You've seen him on PBS. You've seen him on The Colbert Report. You've seen him on the Daily Show. And now, Neil deGrasse Tyson comes to scienceTASTIC. Okay, technically he's not "on" the show (unless you count the illegally recorded audio), but you'd hardly notice with the fuss we make after having seen him live and in person. Tune in for the Cliff's Notes version of his talk and some great NdeGT-inspired science stories: Mike laments the decline of US science r&d, Mark introduces LOFAR - a innovate new method for making astronomical observations - and Joe ponders the end of the age of scientific discovery. Tyson Talk continues with relativity becoming a little bit more relatable, a live webcast of the Northern Lights from the Canadian Space Agency, and Big Bang-like conditions created by the LHC. Science just doesn't get any better. (At least until Michio Kaku comes to town. Then it's a draw.)

What we didn't get to: a new theory on Phobos, and the plus side of playing video games.

Check out our friend Jennifer Souers Chevraux's blog, MuseoBlogger. It's scienceTASTIC approved (which is something she may not want to advertise).
