Hello Science Podcast Listeners!
I would like to thank Dr. Campbell for having the courage and foresight to welcome me to SciencePodcasters. Several of her own loyal listeners put us in contact and she agreed that my On The Other Hand podcast might just be a good fit for this very special directory. I know that decision did not come with ease and I am honored to be included among such great company. You see, I realize what I do may be somewhat unusual for this collection of podcasts.
My name is Dr. Brett Kinsler and I am an evidence-influenced, skeptical chiropractor. More specifically, I am a representative of a movement within chiropractic to help reform the profession and drive it toward a more scientific, responsible paradigm. You might be surprised to know how much science there really is in what we do. You just need to look past all the hype and non-scientific behaviors. If we were a lite radio station, you might say we represent Less Woo, More Truth.
I have been blogging for several years at RochesterChiro.wordpress.com though the podcast, "On The Other Hand" began in September 2010. Our focus is mostly interviews with ethical, responsible, science-oriented people in chiropractic, alternative medicine and health care. Many are dual degree researchers (DC/PhD/MD/DDS) or clinicians with an interesting set of experiences or point of view. We speak with university professors, hospital based chiropractors, integrated practitioners and even critics of AltMed. The bottom line is that we pay attention to the science and quality research while we separate the crap from the credible, the good from the garbage and the well-doers from the wackadoodles. And while we try to stay positive, we are not afraid to touch on the controversial topics.
I hope you will enjoy listening! The show can be found at ontheotherhand.podbean.com

Brett L. Kinsler, DC
