Joining us this week is CAPT Paul Stewart, Director of the Naval Research Laboratory. Since 1923, the Navy's corporate laboratories have served the nation through wide array of scientific and technological innovation. NRL laboratories have pioneered the development of radar, sonar, x-ray astronomy, synthetic lubricants, standard fire fighting foams, nuclear propulsion for ships, fracture mechanics for safety inspections, and prototype satellites for GPS. Today, NRL scientists are using cutting-edge science to make our nation safer and our fighting forces more effective.
