CPAP for EMS Providers and Episode 177 of the MedicCast

Continuous Positive Airway Pressure is one of the interventions used by emergency medical providers (paramedic and EMT) in improving the respiratory status of a patient. Since patients in distress are most often in a state of anxiety, it is also the paramedic's duty to verbally calm the patient and provide coaching to relax the patient and maximize the effects of CPAP.
